Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, OON, NPOM – Biography
Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, OON, NPOM (née Mulbat Adenike Salau) is a distinguished Nigerian administrator, entrepreneur, and public servant known for her exceptional leadership in both the private and public sectors. She is the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and a former President of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA). Her career spans decades of service in business, governance, and community development, earning her multiple national and international awards for excellence and integrity.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Dankaka was born in 1968 in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State, and hails from Offa Local Government Area, Kwara State, in Nigeria’s Kwara South Senatorial District. She began her early education at LEA Primary School, Sabon Gari, Zaria, and Iyeru Okin Primary School, Offa, obtaining her Primary School Certificate in 1973.
She proceeded to St. Clare’s Grammar School, Offa, where she earned her African School Certificate in 1978. Dr. Dankaka obtained a Diploma in Insurance (1981) and later an MBA (1989) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, after earning her B.Sc. in Business Administration (1986) from Bayero University, Kano.
She completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program between 1987 and 1989.
Career in the Private Sector
Dr. Muheeba Dankaka began her professional journey in 1981 at Unic Insurance Plc, before joining Continental Merchant Bank, Kano, where she served from 1987 to 1995. Her early banking career gave her exposure to corporate finance, capital markets, and risk management.
In 1995, she founded Farida Business Ventures Ltd, marking the start of her entrepreneurial journey. Her business interests later expanded to include Danfa Special Rice Factory Ltd, Mando, Kaduna (established in 2019), and Heebah Airlines, a private aviation venture currently in progress.
Her visionary leadership and entrepreneurial spirit have earned her several business excellence awards and positioned her among Nigeria’s notable female industrialists.
