OFFA YOUTH FORUM KADUNA BRANCH CONDEMNS MISLEADING CAMPAIGN ACTIVITIES

Kaduna – September 20, 2024:
In a press release issued earlier today, the Kaduna branch of the Offa Youth Forum expressed deep concern over recent actions by two of its former executives, Latifah Olarewaju and Abdullateef Agboola. The forum condemned their participation in what it described as "mischievous campaign activities" aimed at one of the Offa sons contesting for the local government chairmanship position in Offa Local Government Area.

According to the statement, both individuals appeared on a radio program, making remarks that could potentially undermine the candidacy of one of the contenders. The forum emphasized that such actions go against the association’s core values of promoting unity, development, and political neutrality among Offa youths.

"As an association, we did not publicly endorse any candidate in the upcoming election. The divisive comments made by these former executives have caused unnecessary tension within our ranks and may have compromised the fairness of the democratic process," the press release stated.

The Offa Youth Forum made it clear that both candidates vying for the local government chairmanship are highly regarded members of the Offa community, dedicated to its development. The forum called for respect for all parties involved in the election, urging its members to vote according to their conscience without interference or intimidation.

"We encourage all our members to exercise their democratic rights peacefully and avoid making inflammatory statements that could disrupt the integrity of the election process," said Ibrahim Munir, spokesperson for the Offa Youth Forum Kaduna Branch.

The forum reiterated its commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence, promoting democratic values, and supporting the growth of Offa youths. It concluded by wishing both candidates success in the election, expressing hope for a fair and just outcome that benefits the entire community.

Signed,
Ibrahim Munir
Spokesperson, Offa Youth Forum Kaduna Branch
