EQUITY, JUSTICE AND INCLUSIVENESS: RATIONALE BEHIND ZONING OF KWARA PDP’S GUBERNATORIAL TICKET TO THE NORTH

As a card carrying member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from Ojomu South East ward, Offa LG, careful observer of political developments in the state and diligent student of political history in the state, I feel it is very pertinent to correct a misleading expression on the recent announcement of zoning of Kwara PDP gubernatorial ticket to Kwara North by some neophytes who obviously are agents of the ruling APC administration in the state with sole aim to mislead the unsuspecting Kwarans who they have swindled with propaganda, lies and fake promises to access power in 2019.
To put the record straight, the PDP KWARA has been operating on sincerity of purpose, consistency and respect for mutual agreement from since the return of democracy in 1999 which marked the begining of the 4th republic. PDP has consistently zoned her gubernatorial ticket to a certain part of the State and allow a level playing ground among aspirants from the region before electing its flag bearers who are often credible, competent and more acceptable by majority.
Kwarans will recall that Kwara was governed by ANPP under Alh Muhammed Lawal from 1999 to 2003, Senator Bukola SARAKI became PDP candidate after a credible process to defeat the sitting Governor who was of ANPP but Kwara Central same as Saraki. Upon completion of his two terms between 2003 and 2011, his party, the PDP, in the spirit of fairness, equity and inclusiveness, zoned its guber ticket to Kwara South, where several aspirants jostled and in the end, Dr. Abdulfatahi Ahmed clinched the ticket and went on to become the Governor of Kwara. He also served two terms from 2011 to 2019.
The party which understood how important and equal all its members are, appealled to the Kwara North who by statutory rotation in the spirit of equity to allow another slot for central owing to the 2019 peculiar political heat majorly fuel by Federal Migh t for the party to contain all the sentiment and tricks of then opposition APC.
Which turn to the birth of accidental leaders who have no credentials both political and academic to rule a compound talk less of a state now in charge of our daar state.
Kwarans need not to be reminded that state of harmony with numerous world class scholars, technocrats and experts are today governed by someone who holds no credible certificate other than controversial WASSCE affidavit, another pointer to his inability to manage his cabinet members where commissioners exchange dirty slaps and hit blow, party structure who now use Kwara radio wave as battle field and the state at large where insecurity, poverty and economic woe rent the air along with unmerited monumental indebtedness.
Kwara PDP has never in the history present unintelligent candidates, and will never do so, close accessment of all those who have ever flied the flag of PDP to gubernatorial elections in Kwara state will confirm this ascertion. It therefore means the Zoning of Kwara PDP gubernatorial ticket to Kwara North for 2023 general elections is another pointer to sincerity of PDP as a party to her members and maximum respect for agreement either written or unwritten.
I believe Kwara people must have carefully understood from this uncommon move of PDP how sincere and consistent the party is and how much it holds dear it pledges.
It further clarifies that PDP will never act like the ruling All Promises Cancelled APC who promised and failed yet denied all when accidentally given power.
The zoning of PDP ticket is never out of any bow to regional agitation pressure but continued demonstration of fairness to all members from accross the three Senatorial District, respect for agreement and equity and justice for all that concern.
Let those with little or zero understanding of the political events ask questions and stop misleading Kwarans for political gain.
The injustice perpetrated by the ruling APC during its 2019 primary election is like an 'Evil a man does lives with him', the repercussion is still hurting the party till present, when the acclaimed original winner of primary was denied because of highest bidder offer, all in desperation to gain power, I believe the party is regretting such manipulative act and lack of respect for agreement they exhibited, they can't therefore push our party to join them in the mess of betrayal of member talk more of betraying the masses.
We are People's Democratic Party, a party with premium value and respect for all and sundry including the masses not All Promises Cancelled, APC the Party of betrayals, envious entities and political retrogressive people.
