As Governor of Kwara State, you initated and commissioned several infrastructural projects targeted at improving standard of living , access to education and revenue base of the state such as Kwara State University , Shonga Farms Limited, Kwara Banquet Hall, State Pavilion, Kwara Diagonist Center, Kwara State Aviation College , Post Office Flyover among several others, you practicalised your passion for youth involvement in Governance as you appointed the outgoing National President of NANS and NYCN as Senior Special Assistant To Your Excellency on student matters and Commissioner For Youth respectively, first of it kind at then.
As Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum, you initiated unprecedented economic and political blueprint aimed at repositioning Governance at all levels among others historic stride of NGF under your reign.
As Senator/ Chairman Senate Commitment on Environment and Ecology, you attracted international funding for climate change challenge for our dear nation and dare the power that be on 13th October 2011 when you move a motion of the floor of senate for probe of NNPC and Federal Ministry of Finance for overshooting of oil subsidy fund from 240bn in 2011 to 1.2trn , this regarded as most patriotic move of a serving senator who can ordinarily negotiate benefit to cover such fraud .
As Senate President and Chairman of 8th National Assembly, your assembly led Introduced 2,166 bills and passed 515 bills with 21 bills on constitutional alterations and amendment, 5 signed into law by president
Total of 172 bills by senate and 343 by FHR within 4 years. The highest in the history of Nigeria legislative regime despite the height of distraction and persecution . Most significant the Not Too Young To Run bill was passed under your watch to further exemplified your practical commitment to youth development and political liberation .
As National Leader and Chairman of PDP National Reconciliation Committee, you work tirelessly to ensure peaceful resolution of all impulses and grievances, you recommended practical youth for youth leader accross board alongside other sundry previledge for youth and women in PDP.
Today in your lifetime, PDP is waxing stronger, gatthering more formidable momentum to return to power to rescue and rebuild Nigeria .
