NAPS REINSTATE SUG IN YABATECH, EXTOL Dr. OBAFEMI OMOKUNGBE.
Greatest Nigeria Polytechnic Students!
May i start by quoting from the words of the sixteenth (16th) President of the United States (Abraham Lincoln) on quote " Man owes humanity without question, to leave every society better than he met it by contributing his quota" end of quote.
Recall, two months back, precisely two days after Sallah, the leadership of NAPS under my watch visited Yaba College of Technology Lagos state to engage both the management and security apparatus in an extensive discussion with respect to the age long ban on Students Union activities in Yabatech, the hot discussion lasted for hours with critical stakeholders of NAPS in attendance, after much juxtapose and making them realize the danger behind disenfranchisement of Nigeria students on campus, the rector of the institution Dr. Obafemi Omokungbe who inherited the ban from his predecessor expressed his pain, disappointment and dissatisfaction over the ban, the Rector who is also an alumnus of the institution vowed to work along with NAPS and return SUG activities back on campus by September 2021 (on record).
The National Secretariat of NAPS received in her mail a circular issued by the Student Affairs Unit, dated 20th Sept. 2021, the lift of ban on Student Union activities in Yabatech.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the talk and do Rector of Yabatech Dr. Obafemi OMOKUNGBE, thanks for registering your footprints in the sand of time, and also the NAPS stakeholders who stood firmly that the union must return (picture speaks), we won't forget to appreciate the state security apparatus who were on their toes to ensure we had a smooth sail......... Thanks a bunch!
