NSCDC Kaduna State Command Urges Youths to be Agents of Positive Change
NSCDC, Kaduna state Commandant Alhaji Babangida Abdullahi, has advised Nigerian youths to always ensure that they live as agents of positive change in line with God’s words.
Alh. Babangida Abdullahi, who is the Commandant of NSCDC Kaduna State Command, gave this advice on the occasion of an Appreciation visit by the mission board of MUSFON the Commandant state Command who was also conferred with *“ MUSFON PARAGON of HOPE HONOR"*
The Honor was conferred on the Commandant by a Non-Governmental Foundation, (MUSFON).
According to him, youths should not allow themselves to get entangled in the social vices such as terrorism, cultism, drug abuse, scam, fraud, cybercrime, prostitution and all manner of dirty things that seem to destroy the present generation.
“Find your hand to do something good, no matter how small it might be, you do not really need to have the whole world, to make a change in the world.
“In that little corner you are, be the change you are looking for, by doing things right, live an excellent life that will bring glory to the name of the Lord.
“Somebody said ` make excellence your lifestyle’ which is what I believe in and somebody said `What is excellence?’
“Excellence is doing basic things with proper and detailed attention continually, paying detailed attention to basic things.
“In other words, there are basic things we are used to doing and we do them properly and we do them consistently.
“We as young people should live our life in a way that our life can be an excellent life that will bring glory to the name of the Lord,” Babangida said.
He said if young people would become self-reliant, they would be able to shun vices, attributing their indulgence in political thuggery and terrorism to poverty among other reasons.
He also urged couples to put God at the centre of their marriage in order to avoid frictions often leading to domestic violence.
“They should understand the place of godliness and patience, if you are going into relationship, number one, no matter how old or young might be always ensure your spouse to be is respectful.
“If you marry a man or woman that does not have respect for anybody, he or she will not have respect for you.
“There must be somebody to call your husband or wife to order, those who kill themselves probably did not have somebody who have authority over them at some point.
“Secondly, communication is very key in every relationship no matter what is happening, make sure you air your view, voice it out with partner, shared and discussed together, and truthful to one another, be able to bear, tolerance is key but be truthful to one another,” he added.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of , Alhaji Muhyideen Muhammad, said that the choice of honor was as a result of the Commandant commitment towards youth development programmes in the country.
According to him, this is in terms of morals, youth empowerment and his place as a role model to the Nigerian youth.
“You can see in our society today, youths are involved in criminality, cybercrime, kidnapping, prostitution, all these are issues that affect our nation.
“Now, MSUFON recognise individuals that inspire us and we need to follow his footsteps, so that we can also get to our destinations,” MUHYIDEEN said.
