Leaders of National Association of Polytechnic Students, National Association of Nigeria College of Education Students & National Association of University Students wants President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Sen. Godswill Akpabio & The Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC ) This was contained in a press text statement released by the leaders it reads
" JOINT PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE LEADERSHIPS OF NAUS, NAPS AND NANCES ON THE ONGOING NDDC INVESTIGATION, THIS DAY 20TH JULY, 2020.
Gentlemen of the press.
Greetings from the leaderships of the National Association of University Students (NAUS), National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) and National Association of Colleges of Education Students (NANCES).
With great disappointment, we watch the unfolding acts in the ongoing investigation of the NDDC, its ex-Managing Director, Mrs. Joi Nunieh and Senator Akpabio.
The NDDC was formed as a way to relieve and develop the states, build the youth and make better living conditions for states under the NDDC.
We are aware of the claims of the misappropriation and embezzlement of funds which were meant for the development of our society.
We are also on the know that various corrupt practices have overridden the true intent of the NDDC, these discrepancies which are obvious, by the lack of development in states under the NDDC, the unemployment rate and the inability to organize and build the youths calls for a reform.
The NDDC has failed in fulfilling its objectives due to the inconsiderate people who sit in a position to fulfil them, Corruption, back hand dealings and outright lies seems to be the base. The allegations of misappropriation of over N81.5b raises a red flag and calls for an inquiry of what these funds were used for, the gross misuse of such large funds depicts why development is still stagnant in the NDDC.
The allegations which refer to the over riding of orders from the President, shows that IMC as the Interim Management Commitee did not proceed with a forensic audit as requested and also have Auditing firms who have done little on audit as top and lead consultants.
OUR RESOLUTION:
As one, we ascertain that progress will be made if :
The attention of the President, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), is called to look into this case and ensure that justice prevails and corruption eradicated.
We demand that the House of Representatives should not be overridden and be allowed to do their jobs by completing the ongoing probe without any external interference. They should be allowed to investigate the misuse and misappropriation of funds in the NDDC with no disruptions.
We demand that the forensic auditing of the NDDC should be should be monitor closely by the national assembly and Presidency to ensure fairness. This would ensure that there are no discrepancies and nail those in the wrong.
Demand that suitable and capable hands should be appointed into NDDC to ensure that all projects started are be carried out competently including student scholarship home and abroad. Corruption needs to be stopped and Justice to be served.
While calling for immediate suspension of both Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, entire NDDC IMC to pace way for thorough investigation.

Research by our Correspondent indicates that the Position of the National President of Nigerian Students Mr. Bamidele Akpan was in Support of the Honourable Minister of Niger Delta Affairs , this have currently out the Students bodies in disarray due to non uniformity in the Position.
