DR BABANGIDA UMAR DANGANI: THE PRANCING GAZELLE OF MODERN FUDMA

The quest for leadership and managerial stability has over the course of time been the thirsty adventure of Federal University Dutsin-ma since the departure of the University pioneer Vice Chancellor, Professor James Ayatse (now a Royal Father). In desperate search for an ambitious University administrator that will solve the puzzle of leadership instability in FUDMA, the prestigious University has witnessed different crops of academic Professors task with the responsibility of rediscovering the lost feet of FUDMA. The whole exercise ended in trial and error as none of them come anywhere close to replicating the brilliant attainment of the university pioneer Vice Chancellor. How much more of surpassing it.

The University Governing Council summoned courage and harmoniously installed Dr Babangida Umar Dangani as the Vice Chancellor on acting capacity to steer the affairs of FUDMA for the time being. At first a lot of eyebrows were raised as many doubted his ability to live to the desire expectations of the university community. 

The road to FUDMA stardom is not paved with roses. To think of Dr Babangida Umar Dangani is to think of  the groundbreaking and breathtaking transformations positively manifesting across the nooks and crannies of the University. Dr Babangida Dangani, a fervent Librarian, an academic torchbearer, an administrative crackerjack, a man of great intellect, who has perfectly worked his alchemy towards revolutionizing the outlook of FUDMA.  Just when FUDMA is wading through the red sea, Dr Babangida Umar Dangani was at the rescue to salvage the sinking ship of FUDMA which was almost consumed by unethical politicking occasioned by academicians burning desires to drag the university into the centre pool of political limelights.

Dr Babangi Umar Dangani's intelligence and charisma are the reasons FUDMA Governing Council and the entire university community has developed so much confidence in him to lead the university to accomplish the institution’s goals and visions. Dr Babangida Umar Dangani saddled with the mandate to move the institution forward has heightened the flight altitude of FUDMA.

In a complex and heterogeneous institution of FUDMA caliber where ethnicity and religion difference can always be emphasize upon in staff recruitment and students admission, Dr Babangida Umar Dangani has proven himself more than anything to be a perfect catalyst neutralizing the the supposed dangers that comes with exhibiting ethno-religious differences within the University community. Against overwhelming odds, Dr Babangida Umar Dangani has turnout to be a bridge builder that is filling the yawning gap of heterogeneity in FUDMA. Dr Babangida Umar Dangani is relentlessly building up a FUDMA that is blind to ethnicity and religion differences. Mending every crack of ethnicity and religion differences on the wall of FUDMA.

Dr Babangida Umar Dangani's achievements since assuming office are uncountable on the fingers of our two hands. The Faculties of Medical sciences and Engineering that are before now proving a hard nut to crack for years, have turn out to be a reality in FUDMA. Such a development would not have come on a platter of gold if not for Dr Babangida Umar Dangani last push to convince TeTfund on the necessity to have those faculties in FUDMA. The chase after this development might not start with Dr Babangida Umar Dangani, but huge credits to his name for working tirelessly against the clock to realize such feet.

Dr Babangida Umar Dangani name should carry the tag 'Mr Infrastructure'. Evidence abound in his addiction to rehabilitation of existing structures(facilities) and erecting new ones across the university takeoff campus and permanent site. With tilling of road networks linking every part of the university community, fencing and expansion of lecture halls among other required infrastructures to uplift FUDMA to an institution of global standard, it is a matter of few time before FUDMA begin to attract comparison with other prestigious universities across the globe.

Dr Babangida Umar Dangani's  leadership philosophy is largely driven by the eternal and uncompromising dedication to the doctrine of generous welfarism. The acting Vice Chancellor is ever determine to go all length in ensuring the welfare and basic needs of both staff and students are well cater for irrespective of tribe and religion. To get all hand on desk, Dr Babangida Umar Dangani top most priority is evidently seen in making sure both academic and non-academic staff are not lacking in anything require to move FUDMA forward. He put staff and students welfare first in all his doings.

Dr Babangida Umar Dangani's leadership style carry along with it all cadre of staff in the university. The acting Vice Chancellor has found  strength in all strata of staff of the institution, which has resulted in what is today evident as an all-inclusive administration wherein every member of staff sees himself as part of the decision-making element of the university from the ebb to the echelon.

Those who render themselves sleepless nights at the sight of any effort to move FUDMA to a greater heights are quietly loading the dice against Dr Babangida Umar Dangani leadership. They are jealously parading themselves as distraction at all cost to derail the highly focused and committed train of Dr Babangida Umar Dangani, which is progressively on track to move the university community to the right destination. 

While they are channeling all they have into playing to the gallery, Dr Babangida Umar Dangani with an iron fist in a velvet glove, rather choose to device his intelligence and wisdom into confronting hurdles with strange boldness and bravery on the long, narrow and enduring path to limelight. Turning himself into the indomitable giant elephant that find it way pass the needle eye at ease, through the stroke of hard work and the grace of Almighty God.

Federal University Dutsin-Ma is driving on the crest of a wave today because Babangida Umar Dagani exhumate his heroic deeds and inputs towards restoring the glory of the University. Dr Babangida Umar Dangani is leading FUDMA on the pathways to outstanding development. The Acting Vice Chancellor is living no stone unturned. His generosity and benevolence made the prestigious office of the Vice Chancellor the most productive. 

While Dr Babangida Umar Dangani's luminous life and enormous vestiges in building a prosperous FUDMA for all can never be forgotten in a hurry. I find it deem necessary to channel a demand directly to Dr Babangida Umar Dangani's busy desk. For the fact that Dr Babangida Umar Dangani has always deliver in leadership front, I feel these demands are not more than a sacrifice before the Acting Vice Chancellor. Using his good office as often means everything is under his thumb to deliver more on what he knows how to do best.

To start with, the upsurging explosion in the University population, especially the rising figures of newly admitted students couple with the existing figure of returning students is fast creating the challenges of transportation and accommodation among the students. The available buses to transport students from their respective hostels cannot longer stand the rising population. In most cases, students in trying to catch up with classes, especially in permanent site, resort to either loading themselves like sacks of potatoes in the available buses or stand by the roadside to jump at any moving truck or vehicle going their ways. While it won't be safe to have buses overloaded with chunk of students like a sadin can to avert the lost of lives in an occasion of road accident, it is also not safe to let the students ride on any vehicle outside the ones made available by the University authority. I am quite convince beyond every iota of doubt that the kindhearted Dr Babangida Umar Dangani will urgently put his vested authority into action to make readily available at least two more buses to help arrest the challages that comes with transportation.

With a very limited hostel accommodation for students, it is quite worrisome to see the astronomical rise in the charges students pay for rents for private accommodations outside hostels. Off campus accommodation landlords are fast turning money mungers skyrocketing accommodation rents to somewhat beyond most students financial reach. They are capitalizing on exploding influx of students into the Dutsin-ma host community to arbitrarily placed rent prices at their own wills. While I will appeal to my amiable Vice Chancellor, Dr Babangida Umar Dangani, to in his hard working capacity fasten up into seeing that the University make readily available more hostels to ease students difficulty of securing accommodation. I will equally on behalf of the students go down on my knees to plead with the hardworking Vice Chancellor into creating an avenue through which the University management can come to the negotiation table with private accommodation owners. The university management can go all lent to establish a memorandum of understanding with the landlords and agreed upon a specific price for each category of accommodation structure. This will at most give students a clear budget of the kind of accommodation that will be affordable to them.

Security of lives and properties is prime to any social gathering of any nature. Absence of it can possibly hinder the attainment of goals and objectives. Hence no organization strive amidst insecurity. The host community of Dutsin-ma is a peace loving one. But one cannot dispute the fact that the area is today prone to banditry and kidnappings. It is on this note I will also appeal to my amiable Vice Chancellor to fashion out a reliable medium that will help to strengthen security in the university community.

The common attributes of Dr Babangida Umar Dangani are on his success, leadership, humility, integrity, intelligence, hard work and charisma. I must confess that everything the Vice Chancellor touches is a success. Dr Babangida Umar Dangani's undefeatable courage, bright foresight, resilience, tolerance, forebearance, focus, and risk taking are unmatchable. Dr Babangida Umar Dangani is no doubt a man with incredibly large and generous heart, academic astuteness and uncommon intellect. 

Posterity is judging Dr Babangida Umar Dangani right today because in him FUDMA has found a leader lasting the taste of time. History is already kind to him when Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, find Dr Babangida Umar Dangani worthy of been crown the Barden Malaman Katsina. In him, FUDMA find everlasting peace and tranquility. The Governing Council of FUDMA and the Honorable minister of Education will be more than right if they decide to permanent him to that prestigious office of the Vice Chancellor. The candle of glorious FUDMA which Dr Babangida Umar Dangani seek to light shall never be extinguish.
