THE TASK AHEAD AND THE IMAGE OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN KWARA STATE AND NIGERIA
With deep sense of humility, respect and regards to your good office, permit me to use the medium to congratulate you on your appointment into Kwara State Executive Council as Honorable Commissioner For Youth and Sport. It's a ground breaking appointment in the history of Kwara State and Nigeria at large (Youngest Commissioner) I pray God Almighty grant you wisdom and Strenght to sail through the responsibility of mounting the most sensitive Ministry in Government.
2. It is very important and essential I pen you this note, I choose this medium owing to the fact that am not member of your political party and any move to gain audience with you may be misinterpreted hence I choose to write you openly, just to establish popular demands and expectations of young kwarans, Patriotic Nigerians and proponent of youth inclusion in Governance nationwide from you and your exalted office.
3. It is unarguable that Youth consistuency is the most sensitive section of population in every community, LG, State and Nation, because it consist of the most energetic, active, young, versatile and productive citizens age range 18 - 35 years. Poor coordination of this section can mare the administration likewise good coordination of the section can make the administration best in any Goverment.
4. As our Governor decided to entrust you with this giant responsibility of managing and Coordinating all young people's Force and Sporting activities in our dear state of harmony, I must tell you the need to understand that you are before the world, you are not only serving kwara State Youth under his Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrasak but the entire Nigeria Youth and our faith in governance lies in you.
5. Your performance can influence more youth inclusion in government of Nigeria most especially in kwara State just as it can kill drive permanently. Hence the task ahead is to deliver efficiently for the image of young Nigerians must be protected. Credit of Your success is ours just as the blame and consequence of your failure is for all of us. May you never fail (Amin).
6. Controversy trilled announcement of your name as Commissioner designate while rounding up your NYSC at Jigawa State, many applauded Mr Governor, while Numerous also lamented the choice of your person on the premise of your age, your experience in leadership and management and even some said on your role in bringing this Government on board in kwara state that you contributed less.
7. In my opinion, those premises are immaterial, its God's doing, he has chosen you and men must abide with will of almighty Allah, I had only expected His Excellency who wanted to demonstrate his true love for youth and passion to include young people into his cabinet meaningfuly beyond SA Youth and SA Student we used to have to have established your Nomination as general youth demands by summon Kwara APC Youth stakeholders meeting and request the forum to nominate one of them from kwara North Patigi Local Government and A Female for commissioner slot which could have made your job easier because those young people in APC fold who collectively nominated you could have being a readily available support base for you in office to ease your job and make delivery more collectively charge and easier but be it as it may. You are our Governor's choice hence you remain our choice.
8. Our Governor is like a Chief in Kegite Club International.
Chief is either right or right hence we must not criticise how you emerged but appreciate Mr Governor for is magnificent and commitment to Youth development and meaningful inclusion in affairs of the state.
Its befall all young kwarans now to find means to ensure Mr Governor's choice of your personality does not end up being a trap to peg off Youth in kwara politics as your performance /success will surely influence and determines future engagement of young people in governance beyond kwara State.
9. True be told ma, only few want you to succeed in your new capacity not because they ate you but to make needless point that Mr Governor did not pick popular figure in kwara Youth fold therefore you must double your effort to surpass the pesimistic ones.
10. I had anticipated our Governor will deploy you to Information Ministry being a professional and Graduate of Liberary and Information Science from the great University For Community Development, Kwara State University Malete. But your deployment to the most sensitive and tasking Youth and Sport ministry informed this my letter.
11. Ma, the sensitivity of this Ministry Deserves you seat extral tight, constitute think tank team, consult widely before taking decisions and avoid being lure to do anything that you are not convinced of deep down Your mind.
You are the Chief Executive Officer in charge, please kindly take full charge, ascert the authority in your possession and set a new standard, the Perm Sec can be of great help if properly and systematically exploit, sustain your humbleness, remain kind and listen more and more.
12. Youth coordination is easier provided your Ministry remains programatic, encourage development of all Sporting Activities beyond Football include all ball games, indoor games and track& field events in your pursuit.
Only National Sport Festival and Jamb Cup should not be the Sport outing kwara will feature, develop and strengthen State Football League, encourage the 16 Local Government to build a team in all ball games, indoor Sports and other sporting events to set new order of Inter Local Government competition.
13. National Youth Council of Nigeria kwara Chapter need more attention too to bring together other Voluntary Youth Organisations VYOs accross state to active participation.
Introducing Kwara State Youth Parliament will also be a plus to your reign like other states. Lagos, Gombe, Oyo and others already on the trend, it help build Legislative capacity for young people in the state.
14. Kwara United FC is also under you watch, pls watch them closely and the Stadium is one of the facility under your management. Critically look into reactivation of the stadium to become reasonable IGR Base for the state which is important, it just a matter of innovation and ideology drive the stadium will come back to life.
15. Youth just need to be engaged, get busy doing something productive else they go about doing unproductive/Canterproductice things because only idle hands are employed by devil.
Consider SKILL AQUSITION CENTER for youth in all the 16 Local Government in the state most especially Fresh Secondary School Graduates in kwara State, it will go a long way if your regime can introduce Compulsory 3/6 Months Skill Aqusition for all fresh Secondary School Graduates like delta state though theirs is not compulsory but is cheaper and available in all the local Government area, so next generation of kwara youth will be certified in one trade or the other before entering Tertiary Institution and those whose parent does not have power to train beyond secondary school will be self reliant from that stage. This solve umployement as well curb insecurity in the state. Capacity Building And Training both in Leadership and Professional Practice for youth in the state should not be ignored ma to drive the new kwara with promise future.
16. Its my earnest prayer that you succeed, make kwara and Nigeria Youth proud.
17. Truly, the task ahead and the image of young Nigerians lies in your hand.
