BEING THE COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF NAPS 2019 UNITY CONVENTION HELD AT OHOBA PRIMARY SCHOOL BENIN CITY EDO STATE ON 30th NOVEMBER, 2019

 *Preamble*
National Association of Polytechnic students NAPS is an umbrella body for all Polytechnics, Monotechnics and colleges of technology in Nigeria and Diaspora. the assembly of Student Union Government otherwise regarded as Senator of NAPS forms the Senate Arm with over 20.1million membership strength.

The Association Annual Convention is the National Congress gathering of Senators, Stakeholders and interested Nigerian Polytechnic Students where only Student Union President or Representative of Institution back by letter of Introduction are eligible voters at the Congress, Stakeholders guide the coordination of election proceedings while interested students who had earlier obtained Aspirant Intent Form Contest various position and other student observe the process for transparency, free, fair and credible election process.

NAPS call on 9th National Assembly to consider commencement of bill for an establishment of Nigeria Polytechnic Commission NPC to strengthen Technical Education and Technological advancement in the country following the pressing need of Nigeria to increase made in Nigeria Goods and Service which are only possible with improve funding and Diligent Regulation of polytechnic education.

NAPS express confidence in the leadership and management of National Board for Technical Education NBTE under the astute leadership of  Executive Secretary Dr. Masud Kazaure in curbing running of unaccredited course in our polytechnic hence pass vote of confidence on his leadership.


A Candidate Observing The A4 System of Election

NAPS condemn in strong term the continuous withheld of SIWES allowance of polytechnic students by Industrial Training fund ITF, call for thorough investigation of the agency financial activities by Economic and Financial Crime Commission to determine the state of yearly budgetary allocation for the allowance in the last 5 years the payment had been suspended.

NAPS call on Jamb to either overhaul her Central Admission Processing System CAPS or decentralize the process as the number of students held hostage by the poor response of the system to process admission letter for students to proceed on registration are alarming. reject the mandatory use of National Identity Number for Jamb 2020 registration by Student, owing to the fact that is a calculated attempt to imposed and exploit Nigerian parents of newly announce #5000 and #3000 charges for new and replacement enrolment respectively by National Identity Management Commission NIMC asides the unnecessary stress and hardship it will impose on students and parent to access NIMC registration centers across the country which are very few.

Federal Road Maintenance Agency FERMA are challenged to rise to the occasion of the purpose of her existence, the deplorable state of Nigeria roads which result to numerous road accident on daily basis is disheartening. while condoling the Management, Staff, Students and Family of Federal Polytechnic Offa over the recent lost of 3 students to road accident on their way to National Youth Service Corp NYSC orientation Camp in Jigawa State.

NAPS commend National Assembly move to end Acceptance fee regime in Nigeria University, call for extension of similar gesture to all other tertiary institution categories Polytechnic, Monotechnic and colleges of education in Nigeria.

*State of Campus*

NAPS condemn in totality the payment of TAX by students of Tertiary Institutions in Osun state, charge  Governor Gboyega Oyetola to end the embarrassing extortion of Nigeria students and Parents in The state of Osun.

NAPS frown at unjust expulsion of 13 Students of Edo State Polytechnic Usen, Call on the management of the polytechnic to reinstate the Student and the Student Union Government or face the wrath of Nigeria Polytechnic student and National Secretariat.

NAPS call on Management of Auchi Polytechnic to reconsider the expulsion of Student Union Speaker and other unjustly expelled students as the reason cited is their Expulsion letter served remain flimsy, the management is advised to recall the SUG Speaker and others unconditionally.

NAPS implore management of Federal Polytechnic Bida and Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic ASUP Fed Poly Bida Chapter to both reconsider their stands and reach compromise for the sake of student future involved for academic and examination to resumes in the Polytechnic.

*State of NAPS*

The Congress of NAPS order the withdrawal of The new Logo introduced as it carries wrong date of establishment of the Association and it process of adoption violate the laid down Constitutional Procedures, hence, adopt the usage of former logo on all her official documents till further notice.

The congress commenced election into various offices after accreditation of 37 legitimate student union presidenst present and the following students emerged with the result below.
